EconoBEE Response

Below is EconoBEE's reponse posted to this wiki. They indicated that the message was sent through on 27 September 2007 at 10:45 (40 Minutes after the original request was sent). This is not the case, I first became aware of this response when checking the Wiki on 10 October 2007. The timeline is as follows

  • Sep 27 2007 09:44 - Unsolicited email received
  • Sep 27 2007 09:57 - Original request sent
  • Sep 27 2007 10:05 - Further Abuse report sent to Certech
  • The following line was added by EconoBEE but is untrue, no acceptable response was received at all - Sep 27 2007 10:45 - EconoBEE sent acceptable response
  • Sep 28 2007 10:58 - Reminder sent to both EconoBEE and Certech
  • The following line was added by EconoBEE but is untrue, no acceptable response was resent at all - Sep 28 2007 12:26 - EconoBEE sent the same response through (again)
  • Sep 29 2007 15:52 - Further Reminder sent to both EconoBEE and Certech
  • Sep 30 2007 19:51 - Received 'liability claim' email from Certech (below)
  • Sep 30 2007 22:18 - Responded that personal opinions of Certech were removed from Wiki
  • Oct 01 2007 08:33 - EconoBEE response added to wiki by EconoBEE
  • Oct 06 2008 12:45 - Some EconoBEE changes reverted as these are untrue


The 'liability claim' email I received from Certech:

Dear Thomas,
 
Certech does not in any way support SPAM and our clients(Econoserv) have been officially warned as originally stated.
 
Your statement is a serious deformation of character.
 
Certech takes false allegations seiously and as such we expect a full retraction of your statement within 48 hours. Failure to do so will result in a liability claim.
 
All details have been forwarded to our attorneys who will be in contact with you to proceed with the libility claim should you fail to comply.

Your email is hereby acknowledged.
 
1) Your email address has been removed from our database. We, and our service provider, always respects unsubsribe requests. There is and always has been an option on our  newsletters to unsubscribe and you have been receiving our newsletters for the past 12 months without a complaint.
 
2) We obtained your email address from one of our partners, Steve Banhegyi and Associates t/a Trans4mation who has done work for us as he believed that you would be interested in areas such as change management, BEE, social and enterprise development. We are genuinely sorry that these topics are of no interest to you.
 
3) In terms of the act, we have fulfilled our duties, by giving you the required responses within the applicable period.
